Factory Stores at Lincoln City - NEXTQuality Factory Outlets,
now Tanger Factory Outlets @ Lincoln City began as a 15-acre undeveloped parcel of land
in the mid town section of Lincoln City, Oregon along Highway 101. In 1987,
Tom and Carl Hanacek became aware of the growing trend of factory outlet shopping centers and
identified Lincoln City as a target area for an outlet center. Upon review of the area, they discovered an
available commercial property. The owner of that property had recently failed in his attempt to develop
the property into a grocery anchored shopping center and was quite anxious to get out from under the debt service on the property.
The Hanacek’s brought in Quality Centers out of Orlando, Florida and they represented both parties in the purchased of this 15-acre parcel.
Tom and Carl were retained by Quality Center’s to lease the project, Oregon’s first factory outlet shopping center totaling 165,000 SF.
They successfully leased the center to 100% occupancy in just over a year.
