Tom Hanacek: Nearly 30 years of commercial real estate experience.I have nearly 30-years experience as a commercial real estate broker, based in the Portland Metropolitan Area. During my career, I have had an opportunity to work with clients regarding projects in Portland and throughout the United States. As such, I believe I may have one of the most diverse backgrounds in commercial brokerage in the Northwest. If you take a moment and read my career narrative on my home page and click on some of my deal stories, I trust you will get a sense for my level of experience and diverse background.
Tom Hanacek: Innovative solutions to selling your propertyOne of the secrets to longevity in commercial brokerage is the ability to understand the problems and issues facing both parties and working to find solutions, sometimes creative solutions, that work for both parties and culminate in closed transactions. I am always looking for ways to bridge the gap between buyers and sellers or tenants and landlords and I believe my success lies in listening to not only the needs of my client, but the concerns of the party across the table.
Tom Hanacek: Client focused.Pure and simple, my fiduciary responsibility is to my client and my honesty and integrity are first and foremost. Before I move forward, it is imperative that I meet with my clients. Some people in this day and age like to do everything by phone or via email, however, unless there are extenuating circumstances, I have learned that you never learn enough about your client unless you meet them in person. That is important to me.
Tom Hanacek: Results driven. If you are not highly motivated to get results you will not survive in this business. I come to work knowing that I am not compensated unless I am successful. So rest assured, for nearly thirty years I know what it takes to get results!
Tom Hanacek: Experience + Innovation + Focus + Results = SuccessPut my nearly 30-years of real estate to work for you by giving me a call and let’s discuss your needs and how I might be able to help. Contact me today.

Tom HanacekI am Tom Hanacek, Managing Director / Principal Broker of the Commercial Division of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services NW Real Estate. I offer nearly 30 years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage and come from a diverse background in the industry.

Upon graduating from the University of Washington, I partnered with my father to form Hanacek & Company where I was instrumental in pioneering our niche as site selectors and leasing agents in the factory outlet shopping center industry. This included Oregon’s first factory outlet center, the Factory Stores at Lincoln City.

All totaled, I have been involved in ground-up leasing, brokered land sales and/or center sales on nine factory outlet centers in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California; totaling more than 1.2 million square feet. I especially pleased to have completed leases as a landlord representative or tenant representative with the likes of Nike, Eddie Bauer, Simon Property Group, Tanger, Sara Lee, Van Heusen, Kitchen Collection and Brown-Forman.

In addition, I have been involved in the sale of more than $100 million in commercial properties, including the One Airport Center, the Boise Factory Outlet, Big 5 Sporting Goods and the Wittenberg Inn and have sold over 100 acres of commercial land to shopping center developers and users, such as Quality Centers, WinCo Foods and Providence Healthcare Systems.

Given my extensive background and ability to be creative, I has been called upon to provide consulting and tenant representation to such firms as Adidas America, Helly Hansen, Coldwater Creek, Cutter & Buck, JFC International and Pendleton Woolen Mills. In several cases, these assignments have resulted in consulting and tenant representation on a nationwide basis.

Out of the office, I have served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Lincoln Youth Football and was a founding member and Vice President of Lincoln Junior Baseball and have coached youth football for 10 years, seven of those as head coach. Other activities include working out, golf, watching college football and skiing.
